One Century, Five Reigns
Each medieval King's reign forms a poignant chronicle of the Museum's core exhibit, and its Bangsawan repertoire, retold in breathtaking sequence from founding to fall.
I
Sang Nila Utama
(1299 — 1347) Traditionally credited with the founding of Singapura after his sighting of a lion-like beast on its shores — the reign from which the entire chronicle begins.
II
Sri Wikrama Wira
(1347 — 1362) Retelling of the young kingdom’s consolidation as an integral trading port at the southernmost tip of the Malay Peninsula.
III
Sri Rana Wikrama
(1362 — 1375) Presided over medieval Singapura through a period the Malay Annals recall as heavily contested by intense rivalry with neighbouring powers.
IV
Sri Maharaja
(1375 — 1389) Ruled through medieval Singapura’s final years as a Malay court, as pressure on the young kingdom continued to mount.
V
Parameswara
(1389 — 1398) Singapura’s last medieval King before he founded the port of Melaka — closing one chronicle, and opening the next.

Alongside Singapura’s own chronicles, the Museum stages the legends of Greater Asia’s operatic and storytelling traditions — immersive, game-based journeys engineered for all ages, transforming an hour’s visit into an unforgettable memory.

MULAN In 6th-century Northern Wei Dynasty, a young woman took her ageing father’s place in the conscripted army, disguised as a man. For twelve years, she fought with honour, led with bravery, and earned the respect of her comrades — her true identity remaining hidden until victory was won.
